TECHSIGHT – Future-Proofing European HEIs for Regional and Global Leadership in Deep Tech

Horizon Europe   2025 – 2027   ·   Coordinator   ·   Yıldız Technical University, ASIL Laboratory

TECHSIGHT positions European higher-education institutions as engines of deep-tech leadership at both regional and global scale.

TECHSIGHT is an EIT Higher Education Initiative (HEI) Cohort 4 project designed to strengthen the capacity of higher education institutions to generate, protect, and commercialize deep-tech innovation. The project brings together a multidisciplinary European consortium to bridge the gap between research outputs and market deployment by embedding innovation, entrepreneurship, and intellectual property (IP) practices into academic ecosystems.

At its core, TECHSIGHT focuses on building a structured pathway from knowledge creation to real-world impact. This includes supporting the development of new IP (patents and innovative solutions), enabling startup creation through accelerator and support programmes, and fostering collaboration between academia, industry, and innovation stakeholders. The project also emphasizes skills development through cross-consortia courses, leadership training, and industry-oriented educational activities targeting students, researchers, and institutional leaders.

A key dimension of TECHSIGHT is its systemic approach: integrating technology transfer offices (TTOs), innovation districts, and European networks such as the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) to ensure sustainability and scalability beyond the project duration. Through co-creation activities, dissemination efforts, and long-term partnership building, TECHSIGHT aims to establish a robust innovation ecosystem that supports deep-tech entrepreneurship and enhances the role of universities as drivers of economic and societal transformation.

By aligning education, research, and innovation with market needs, TECHSIGHT positions itself as a practical framework for turning academic excellence into tangible, high-impact outcomes across Europe..
