Redesigning Introductory Computer Programming for Engineering Through Innovative Online Modules
Erasmus+ KA2 2021 – 2023 · Partner
This Erasmus+ KA2 project redesigned introductory computer-programming courses for engineering students using student-centred, hybrid online modules.
The team produced course frameworks, evaluation instruments, and openly licensed teaching materials that have been adopted by partner universities. The redesigned modules emphasise active learning, scaffolded practice, and authentic engineering applications drawn from mechatronics, biomedical devices, and applied AI.
ASIL contributed both pedagogical input and technical content reflecting current industry programming practice. The work fed directly into ASIL’s subsequent Erasmus+ KA2 collaborations on AI4VET and STITCH, in which the lab continues to bridge engineering practice and digital pedagogy.
Funder: European Union — Erasmus+ KA2, National Level. Project period: 2021–2023.
